Welcome to Roa Island House on the Isle of Tranquillity situated on the waters edge just a few miles from Barrow in Furness, where you will find peace and quiet in our contemporary Edwardian style environment. We are situated at the end of the peninsula off the coast road from Ulverston.
Roa Island House is set with fantastic views of Morecambe Bay and Piel Island made famous by Martin Clunes (of men behaving badly and Doc Martin) "The Island" programme.
The building itself was built in the 1800 and has been brought up to date with the rooms having excellent en-suite facilities.
Most of the rooms have great views of the coast and the surrounding area, however to experience even more of the views, take a trip to "The Tower" where we have a telescope to explore to wonderful views all round. Then relax and read from our small library of books or play a game or two.
All our rooms come with breakfast included in the price and you have a choice from juices and yoghurts to a hearty cumbrian breakfast.
Our licensed restaurant offers a delicious array of home cooked cuisine catering for vegan to the meat lover as well as our younger guests with daily specials and mouth watering homemade desserts.
Two Day Healing Weekend

Atlas Treatment, Live Blood Microscopy, Low Laser Light & PH Testing

Those wishing to stay can do so by booking direct with us and quoting the weekend and that you have booked a treatment, then you will received a discount on your room rate.

Garden Sea View Cafe
Why not visit us here at Roa Island House, where you can have a meal, snack or afternoon tea with cakes and more. We have a garden to relax in where children can safely play. We are currently taking bookings for Parties and Celebrations. So where else can you enjoy the views but at Roa Island House and have a great time.
Ferry to Piel Island
The Ferry is now operating to Piel Island everyday except in bad weather for customer safety.
